Predestined for Glory: Audio
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.” Rom 8:28-30
I imagine, if I were to ask a group of Christians: What is God’s ultimate purpose for saving you? I would get a variety of answers. I might hear something like this: God saved me so that I can go to heaven. Or…he saved me so that my sins would be forgiven. Or… He saved me to show me his love through Christ’s death on the cross. Or…he saved me so I may have a more joyous and fulfilling life…Or he saved me so that I could be with him forever…Now, I wouldn’t disagree with any of these answers because they ALL are true…but they are NOT why God saved you and me…ultimately. The apostle Paul, in these verses in Romans chapter 8, pinpoints the purpose of God for our salvation.
